Comment | This lot is located 25 ft east of Tiernan Avenue at Ark Street in the Nausauket section at telephone pole #3, just south of #140 Tiernan Avenue. The cemetery is 40 ft x 50 ft, in fair condition although overgrown, with no enclosure. It contains 21 burials. The historical cemetery sign is in good condition. It is on the tax assessor’s map, Plat #367, Lot #547.
James Arnold visited this lot 11 Oct. 1891 and commented, “on the Taylor farm on Apponaug Cove, east of Apponaug Village, fenced, in good order” (Vol. 4, p. 190). Charles and Martha Benns visited this lot in 1936, their #688, “in the Nausauket Section.” Ambrose Taylor was a chair maker and the father of Thomas Taylor (WK038).
Recorded by John Sterling for a book on Warwick cemeteries. |
