CommentThis cemetery is located 400 ft west of Post Road in Apponaug at telephone pole #376. It is 45 ft x 185 ft, stretched along a ridge behind the Cowesett Office Park, next to the Brookside Village Apartments. It is in fair condition, with no enclosure. There are 31 burials with seven inscribed stones and 20 fieldstones. The historic cemetery sign is in fair condition. It is on the tax assessor’s map, Plat #236, Lot #46. James Arnold visited this lot 15 Jan. 1894 and commented “a short distance northeast from Capt. Nathaniel Millerd farm and in sight of it on a ridge, without protection, neglected” (Vol. 4, p. 469).
