This lot is located 100 ft southwest of Tanner Avenue in Apponaug at telephone pole #20. It is 180 ft x 45 ft, enclosed with a cast iron fence around the Greene family area. In 2019 the WHCC received grants and added 5 kiosks with information on the history of Apponaug and the Greene family. Granite stairways with railings and wrought iron benches were added A number of parking spaces for visitors were also added and repairs were made to some of the gravestones. There are 80 burials with 62 inscribed stones and 3 fieldstones. It is on the tax assessor’s map, Plat #246, Lot #216. James Arnold visited this lot 30 Oct. 1872 and noted, “on the brim of the hill north of the Oriental Print Works. Much overrun with brush, center lot fenced, others not. Some have been removed to Brayton Cemetery” (Vol. 2, p. 1). It is high on a hill south of the FOP Lodge. This cemetery is a hangout for kids and is heavily damaged. Recorded by John Sterling for a book on Warwick cemeteries.
