CommentThis cemetery is located 20 ft south of Post Road at telephone pole #18.5, and 250 ft. west od S. Atlantic Ave.. It is 300 ft x 110 ft, in good condition, enclosed with granite posts and iron rails. The gate is missing, and the historic cemetery sign is in fair condition. It contains about 400 burials with 328 inscribed stones and 6 fieldstones. It is on the tax assessor’s map, Plat #293, Lot#921. James Arnold visited this lot “Pawtuxet Burial Yard”, 27 July and 3 August 1890. He described it as “beside the main street, south side, well fenced, good condition” (Vol. 2, p. 48).
