CommentDate of Arnold’s visit: Oct. 14, 1880 His number: #178 Arnold’s comments: “on land of Robert Browning east of his house beside wall one grave with rude stone that of Gibra Allen. He had shot his arm off and died after an operation had been performed by the surgeon.” Our comments: The first name is exceptionally hard to decipher from the Visitation. This cemetery is probably east of Matunuck Beach Road, just south of Route #1. Formerly known as SK 544.
