A mss at the RI Historical Society titled "Copies of all epitaphs visible in the graveyard at the corner of Hope and John Streets (July 23 1848)" documents eight gravestones. On 8 August 1848 the records of the North Burial Ground document the arrival of remains from this cemetery. "Interred 4 large boxes containing the remains of the Tillinghast, Arnold and Drown families removed from the Ashton Burial Ground (sic) from the south end." The reference to the Ashton BG it probably an error as "59 persons from the Ashton lot in the South End" were reinterred at North Burial Ground 17 Jul 1848. The Tillinghast-Arnold remains were reinterred in lot #789 on the south side of Chapel Ave. just south of the tomb (sect AW map# 5000-5015)
