Comment | The cemetery was located north of Nicholas Road, west of the intersection with Greenhouse Road. It was removed to Hopkins Hollow Cemetery - Coventry Historical Cemetery #12, between 1905 (when Arnold transcribed it) and 1940 (when Charles and Martha Benns found the burials in Hopkins Hollow Cemetery). All the burials were recorded on stone C68 in 1993. There were eight burials with six inscribed stones and two fieldstones.
James N. Arnold visited this lot on 10 Aug. 1905 and noted, “On the Nicholas farm west from the Lewis farm, back of house in pasture protected by rail fence, fence in good order, yard over-grown with brush” (Vol. 6, Book B, page 1172). Where given, death dates and ages are from the original marble stones seen by Arnold.
Identified, registered and recorded by Dr. Bill Eddleman and John Sterling for a 1998 book on Coventry cemeteries. |
