Comment1970 state registration list "High board fence around this cemetery, on the property of Universal Chemical Co." It was behind NEL pole #121. The town of Cumberland erected a memorial to William Blackstone in 1889. William Blackstone died in 1675 at about the age of 80. This is thought to be the original burial location of William Blackstone. It was located at the corner of Broad Street and Cumberland Street, but was remove to this location when the Ann & Hope parking lot was enlarged.
