[S/O John & Sarah (Peck), was born at Cumberland in 1751 and died at Cumberland 19 May 1814. He marrie Nov 1783 Hannah Weatherhead, d/o Capt. Enoch and Ann (Dexter). Some of their children were Evelena and Obed. Daniel served as Surgeon on the sloop "Katy" (later renamed th "Providence"), a vessel of war fitted out and employed in the service of the colony of Rhode Island, under the command of Commodore Abraham Whipple from June 1775 to 3 Jan 1776 and as Assistant Director, under D Jonathan Arnold, in the General Hospital of the RI Second Continental Battalion in Oct 1777. In 1778, he was appointed Surgeon at one of the hospitals in which capacity he served to the end of the war.]--JJR Died: CUMBERLAND, RI [SAR: 1775 Ensign in 2nd Co. Train Band of Cumberland]
