Notes
"froze to death in Roxbury, MA" [SAR: 1778 employed in public service with team in RI and in Prov.] This stone is signed "DF" on the back [s/o John & Abigail. He was born in Cumberland on 20 Mar 1754. He froze to death at Roxbury, MA while returning from delivering wood at Boston. He & his oxen were caught in a bad storm and darkness. His apparent attempt to find shelter was unsuccessful.]--JJR **IBP records year of death as 1770 but the picture clearly shows 1778 Died: FROZE - ROXBURY MA
