[s/o Benjamin & Elizabeth Razee, was born at Cumberland 11 Dec 1746 and died at Cumberland 8 Dec 1816, in his 70th year. He married 9 Aug 1781 Mary Nichols, d/o Samuel Nichols of North Kingston. Joseph served as an Ensign in the First Company of Cumberland Militia under the comman of Capt. Enoch Weatherhead from 1776 through 1778. He was at Howland's ì Ferry and Bristol, RI in 1777 and on Rhode Island in Aug 1778 in ì Sullivan's Expedition. He was also on duty at least twice in Providence ì during that time. He also served as an Ensign in the Cumberland Senior ì Class Company in 1781 under Capt. Levi Tower. He was a member of the Cumberland Town Council in 1779, 1784, 1785, 1788, & 1793.]--JJR Died: CUMBERLAND, RI [SAR: 1776 Ensign in 1st Co. Cumberland Militia; 1778 same; 1781 same]
