Rev. Frederic Denison recorded this lot in 1867-8: A mile and a half west of Dorrville, on the farm of Hon. N. F. Dixon, south of the railroad, on top of a low knoll, in a meadow, and uninclosed, are unlettered graves. Here was buried Major Walter White, once a prominent citizen in the town, and his wives, first and second. Major White's first wife was Sophia Brown; his second was Esther Saunders.
