CommentThis cemetery is located 500 ft north of Tollgate Road, in Apponaug at telephone pole #22. It is in back of house #89 Tollgate Road. There are three cemeteries side by side: WK025, WK114 and WK113. This cemetery is 90 ft x 90 ft, in fair condition, enclosed with a stone wall. The historical cemetery sign is in good condition. It contains 36 burials with 29 inscribed stones and 7 fieldstones. It is on the tax assessor’s map, Plat #246, Lot #188. James Arnold visited this lot 23 Oct. 1892 and noted, “at Apponaug on hill northwest from the Oriental Print Works, yards fenced and lots in fine order” (Vol. 4, p. 401).
