Comment | This cemetery is located 200 ft south of Quisset Court. It is 40 ft x 30 ft, in very poor condition, with no enclosure. The historic cemetery sign is missing. It has 6 burials with 2 inscribed stones, only one remaining in 1994. It is on the tax assessor’s map, Plat #269, Lot #43.
Arnold visited this lot 20 Sep. 1891 and noted, “On what was formerly known as the Cornell farm north of Hills Grove, north of Greenwood west of the farm house in wood, lot fenced, yard neglected” (Vol. 4. p. 235).
In 1994 it is in Wethersfield Common at the end of Quisset Court, between it and Pocasset Court, 30 ft in on the top of a hill, behind #554 Quisset Court. Only one stone remains, and it is all but destroyed. The state registration list gives directions from Spooner Avenue.
Recorded by John Sterling for a book on Warwick cemeteries. |
