CommentTranscribed by James N Arnold Sept 4, 1919, (Vol 25, pp 153-179). He describes it as follows: "Greenville cemetery, First Division, North East. At Greenville between the pond and the road leading west from the post office there is quite a cemetery divided into divisions and lots. The first of these, the north east one, is covered by quite a forest growth. We are told that about here are a number of graves that have field stones only. One grave has around it a picket fence*, now in very poor condition. From appearances there are a number of graves on the right and a very recent one, has a flag. We find a distance north east from here, these graves without protection.** Beside this lot are a series of lots surrounded by iron rails and granite posts. Some of these lots show neglect while some are in fine order." Arnold also describes second part of lot as follows: "In the second division of this yard, and like this fenced with granite posts and iron rails, all the lots in this section are in fair and good condition" Some burials also transcribed by Grace G Tillinghast (Vol 25 pp 218-218A) in 1932. Transcribed by Ethel M White who mentions that the owner of the cemetery was Lucius Whipple. Transcribed by Ron Farrar. *Wolfenden stone **Easton stones Transcribed by Roger Beaudry February 22, 1997. Cemetery is made up of five very distinct areas. The furthest west "Section A" is an area about 140 ft X 60 ft and is surrounded by granite posts with iron rails. Within this section is an area about 40 ft x 40 ft "Section A1." The next area "Section B" is about 140 ft x 60 ft and is not enclosed. About 75 ft east of this section is an area 16 ft x 16 ft surrounded by granite posts with iron rails "Section C." The last area "Section D" is located about 50 ft east of "Section C." It is an open area of undetermined area which contains two stones.
