Comment | Transcribed by James N Arnold Sept 24, 1919 (Vol 25, pp 302-305). He describes lot as follows:
"On the Mapleville road near the town line in Smithfield coming from Greenville, at top of hill. Yard badly overgrown with brush & briers."
He also goes on to describe another part of cemetery as:
"The following are enclosed by granite posts and iron rails, yard badly overgrown with brush & briers"
Grace G Tillinghast also transcribed one stone Oct, 1930, (Vol 25, page
305)
Transcribed by Charles & Martha Benns (Vol IV page 48). They assigned it #615 and described it as "Evans Family, Smithfield"
Transcribed by Ron Farrar who described it as "Evans Drive"
Transcribed by Roger Beaudry April 25, 1998. Lot consists of a small area about 20' sq which contains about 4 or 5 stones. Although Arnold listed all the same stones in this enclosure, Many seem out of position. The remaining stones and field stones are located outside this area, scattered over an area approximatel 36 feet x 68 feet. Although some trimming has taken place within enclosure, the area surrounding it is quite overgrown. |
