CommentDate of Arnold’s visit: Oct. 14, 1880 His number: #174 Arnold’s comments: “in Toman Lot land now owned by W R Carpenter formerly by Babcocks a burial yard marked by rude stones.” Our comments: This cemetery is probably east of Matunuck Beach Rd., possibly on Washington St. Whether these graves are those of the George and Mehitable Babcock who registered the birth of Cyrus Babcock in South Kingstown VRs in 1756, as well as those of other children 1753-1771, is not known. Formerly known as SK 541.
