Date of Arnold’s visit: Feb. 20, 1880 His number: #3 Arnold’s comments: “a matter of about thirty rods (495 feet) northwest from the above [SK A15] is another yard overgrown with bayberry and briars, graves with rude stones. This is supposed to be those of slaves and there are another similar yard about the same distance further northeast on south side of stone wall now nearly obliterated by the plow. Further particulars are to us unknown. Our comments: This area is east of Plains Road on property of the University of Rhode Island. It is east of the brook in an area heavily overrun with briars. Formerly known as SK 524.
