CommentThis cemetery has not been found Date of Arnold’s visit: Feb. 26, 1880 His number: #36 Arnold’s comments: “on land owned by John Clarke and now occupied by Moses Wilcox west from his house on edge of wood is a yard unprotected containing 9 full and 3 small graves marked rudely being those of the slaves once belonging to the Wilcox family.” Also mentioned “on land of Casey Slocum about half way between his house and the woodland westerly is a burial yard entirely unprotected graves marked by rude stones 4 full and 7 small graves and one reads: Amey AE 84 1792” “We are told there are the grand parents and great grandparents of N C Peckham who now lives near Chipuxet River.” Our comments: J. S. Clarke and N. C. Peckham are shown on the 1890 Evert and Richards map northwest of the Kingston RR station and south of Route #138. Formerly known as SK 511.
