CommentThis cemetery has not been found Date of Arnold’s visit: Feb. 26, 1880 His number: #33 Arnold’s comments: “in open pasture on land of Benjamin Watson north side of road leading from the old depot at Kingstown westward a distance from said road lot without protection we find 21 large and 9 small graves rude stones upon one we find 1807 only.” He went on: “We are told that here were buried Mr. Stephen Champlain and wife and the members of his family known as the blind family and became noted on this account to the people of the town.” He added: “Thomas Champlain an old Revolutionary Patriot was buried here. He died at a very advanced age.” Our comments: This cemetery should be on Fairgrounds Road between SK 93 (Arnold #32) and SK 55 (Arnold #35). Probably on the northwest corner of Route #138 and Fairgrounds Road. Formerly known as SK 509.
