CommentWe only know this burying place existed because it is mentioned twice in Daniel Stedman’s journal. Two people who died in 1857 are mentioned specifically as having been buried in the William Sheldon Burying Place. These and the William Sheldon family are now buried in Riverside Cemetery to which they were removed before 1880 when James N. Arnold recorded Esther Sheldon there. Identified, registered, and recorded by John Sterling & James Wheaton for a 2004 book on South Kingstown cemeteries.
