This cemetery was removed from its original location to the Perryville Church Cemetery (SK047) sometime after James N. Arnold visited it Oct. 15, 1880. He numbered it #182, describing it as “on land of Joseph Champlain west end of his farm in corner of lot a burial yard of his family unprotected.” “2 small graves south [south of Joseph E. Champlin’s grave] unmarked those of Dea. Joseph sister’s children who married a Nye.” It contained three burials then with one inscribed stone and two fieldstones, and was unprotected. Joseph E. Champlin is now buried in section B of the Perryville Church Cemetery, SK 47, with his parents Deacon Joseph and Mary (Whitford) Champlin and his siblings. Identified, registered, and recorded by John Sterling & James Wheaton for a 2004 book on South Kingstown cemeteries.
