Comment
This cemetery no longer exists in its original location as it was removed to Oakdell Cemetery, SK 37. The original cemetery contained 38 burials with one inscribed stone and 37 fieldstones. It is not clear how many of these graves were actually moved, but the James Bacon marble stone is now in Oakdell Cemetery along with a marble Civil War Veterans stone and an unmarked fieldstone next to him. James N. Arnold recorded this cemetery Feb. 26, 1880, his #37, “a short distance north west from the Meeting House in centre of plain lot entirely unprotected at Dr. Waite’s Corner so called 21 full and 16 small graves with rude stones only as near as we could make out.” Identified, registered, and recorded by John Sterling & James Wheaton for a 2004 book on South Kingstown cemeteries.
