This cemetery is located five hundred feet north of Mooresfield Road at telephone pole #59 / 38-7. It is 150 feet northwest of the barn at #843 Mooresfield Road and about five hundred feet east of Stoney Fort Road and 200 feet west of Congdon Gardner Way. It is thirty by forty feet, in good condition, with no enclosure. Historical cemetery sign #92 is incorrectly located in this cemetery. There are thirteen burials with five inscribed stones and eight fieldstones. James N. Arnold recorded this cemetery May 16, 1880, his #97, “on land of Niles Gardiner heirs a short distance from his house in open lot unprotected. Right after recording this cemetery Arnold visited a slave lot (his #98), “west of the above a few rods is a slave burial yard overgrown with weeds, briars and birch so dense as to render a count of graves impossible. Should suppose however there were in the neighborhood of 18 or twenty.” We looked for this lot but could not find any sign of it. Found, registered, and recorded by John Sterling & James Wheaton for a 2004 book on South Kingstown cemeteries.
