This cemetery is located six hundred feet east of Jerry Brown Farm Road near Post Road, Route #1, at telephone pole #5½. It is on the Whaley farm at East Matunuck. It is 50 feet x 65 feet. The wall that Arnold saw in 1880 was represented by only a few stones in 2001. The historical cemetery sign is in fair condition. There are 61 burials with seventeen inscribed stones and 44 fieldstones. James N. Arnold recorded this cemetery Oct. 18, 1880, his #194, “on land of Carder Whaley, east of his house, the old Peckham burial yard, lot walled in fair condition.” Recorded by John Sterling and James Wheaton for a 2004 book on South Kingstown cemeteries.
