This family cemetery is located three thousand feet east of Rose Hill Road. Follow South Woods Drive (new subdivision in 2001) to the end, then follow the driveway to Stoney Brook Farm at telephone pole #4. Park by the barn, and the cemetery is the diagonal opposite corner (northwest) of the field that is located northwest of the barn. It is forty feet square, in fair condition, enclosed with a stone wall on the north and east sides only. The historical cemetery sign is missing. There are eight burials marked with five inscribed slate stones and three fieldstones. The five slate gravestones were all carved by John Stevens III in Newport. James N. Arnold visited this lot July 19, 1880, his #102, “on land of George Rose Jr. on what was once the Knowles lot in corner of lot is a burial yard containing the remains of Mr. Knowles family, lot covered with birch and showing marks of neglect graves marked with dark stones [slate] only.” Recorded by John Sterling and James Wheaton for a 2004 book on South Kingstown cemeteries.
