James Arnold visited this lot 29 Aug 1904 (Vol 2, Pg 222) On the A King place a distance from the house north westerly and back of the old orchard 3 graves with rude stones. We are told that these are Mr. Brooks and wife and a servant. Brooks was a noted character of his day in so much he seemed to have plenty of money for his own use and yet he toiled not. He was found beside the road with his neck broken and dead. His horse came home without him. A search resulted as above said. How the accident happened will never be known. It is said he came from Providence here and he was still mouthed as to his past life.
