Comment
General Rush Christopher Hawkins gave his rare (16th century) book collection and the money to build a library to Brown University in 1905, on the condition that he and his wife could be buried there. The Annmary Brown Library today houses the book collection and the two bodies which were all shipped from California. The library is located east of Brown Street and north of Charlesfield Street.
