Comment	"Rhode Island Tombstone Inscriptions" (ANON), circa 1900, at RIHS lists 3 stones in the Allen cemetery on the old Allen farm, Wapping Road. From the names this lot was not PO028, but a separate burial ground in the same general area. GHR described the location as "Allen Farm, South Portsmouth, 1/2 mile south of Freeborn Allen's house" (Richardson Scrapbook 974 at NHS, p. 32). Richardson also saw "an old ground" with unmarked fieldstones just south of this lot. The Alice Allen grave is now marked by a granite monument in SK043, and the Caroline Champlin grave is now in SK047. The other two have not been located.
