Comment
Located 740 northwest of Brownell Lane at pole #12 and 1600 feet northeast of West Shore Road, on land of Carnegie Abby Club that is now used for horses. "Rhode Island Tombstone Inscriptions" (ANON), circa 1900, at RIHS calls this 3-stone lot "The Brownell Cemetery on the old Thomas Brownell farm now owned by Henry C. Anthony near the coal mines, Portsmouth." No other sources. As shown in the 1895 atlas of southern RI towns, Henry C. Anthony owned too much property to pinpoint a probable location through this description. Brownell Lane, however, does generally fit the criteria.
