This cemetery is located 10 feet east of West Main Road in fron of #362 West Main Road. In the town numbering this lot is #37, but an annotation on the town hall info suggests that it is actually PO042. Called #42 in the resurvey of 1970. ANON, "Rhode Island Tombstone Inscriptions," circa 1900 at RIHS, lists 8 inscriptions from the "Cory Family Cemetery on Richard R. Macomber Farm, Lehigh Hill, Portsmouth." On a visit 10 Apr. 1976 for CETA, Patricia Bodine was unable to read nine slates because of wear, found only 6 readable stones. She reported that the cemetery was then used as a rubbish pile for the owner's lawn and tree trimmings. Ian Kohl (IK) transcribed four of the six stones remaining in 1989, noted that the lot was covered with brush and trees.
