CommentThis cemetery is on the property of the new Penfield School 825 feet north of Sandy Point Lot. Enter from the fifth driveway on the north side of Sandy Point Ave. It is on the west side of a small house back against a stone wall separating it from the Portsmouth Glen Farm Sports Complex. It can also be reached from the Sports Complex behind the farthest baseball backstop south from the old Brown House. The lot is enclosed by stone walls on the north and west and by granite posts on the south and east, no rails remain. The anonymous author (ANON) of "Rhode Island Tombstone Inscriptions" at RI recorded four stones in what he called the "Slocum Cemetery on the Governor Slocum farm now owned by Alfred G. Vanderbilt." Each stone in this cemetery was photographed by Barb Austin and Letty Champion in 2006.
