CommentCemetery covers an area of 39.5 acres and is owned by the Union Cemetery Burial Society of North Smithfield. It is listed in the land records located in the North Smithfield Town Hall. Any reference made to Bank or Old Bank Burial Ground, pertains to a section of the present day Union Cemetery. Some stones were transcribed by Ethel M White during the 1930's. Some were transcribed by Grace G Tillinghast during the 1930's. This transcription can be found in Vol 34, Page 1 of the Arnold transcript. Transcribed by Roger Beaudry & Paul Delisle during the summer, fall & early winter of 1993. Charles & Martha Benns transcribed a portion of this cemetery and assigned it #230. It can be found in Vol II pp 227-228 and concludes in Vol IV page 69. They write as follows: "This cemetery contains mostly modern graves, but this section has these ancient graves of the Arnold Family and near relatives and is well cared for. Other records of this branch of the Arnold family may be found in Richardson's "History of Woonsocket"> Reference 1: Cemetery records Reference 3: State vital statistics Reference 12:"Representative Men and Old Families of Rhode Island 1908."
