CommentLying on land of John S. Smith in 1881. On today's map, on Tower Hill Rd., south of Belleville, north of Haverhill, south of Chatworth on lot 111 or 149 of Plat 93. The burial ground has been seen many times in the past by residents. Extensive development in the area may have destroyed it. James Arnold recorded this lot May 8, 1881, his #103, "On land of John S Smith south west of his house on knoll without protection a burial yard of the colored servants of the Phillips family the former owner of this property." Listed with the temporary number NK347 until the gravestone for Lonnon and Hagar was found in 2009 in storage at the Stevens Shop in Newport.
