Off east side of Slocum Rd north of Shermantown Rd. Take Thomas Anthony Road to cul-de-sac at end. Graveyard is to the left on a small hill across a gully. James Arnold visited this lot on 18 Mar 1880, his #19, "A short distance east of the house of the late William H. Knowles on sidehill is the old Sherman burial ground in which we count 30 large and 11 small graves all marked with rude stones only." "We are told by Mr. Austin then living on the place that the first Sherman who settle in this country is buried here but other yards claim similar honor and this fact remains for us to verify." Recorded by Althea McAleer, Beatrix Hoffius, and Deby Nunes for a 1992 book on North Kingstown cemeteries.
