from G H Richardson transcription 1870: "Green End northeast from Redoubt" The Middletown Historical Society survey looked for any sign of this cemetery without success. Their best estimate is that is was near the Church of the Latter Day Saints or in the area directly behind the nursery at the end of Simmons Street. Newport Journal 19 January 1901: "Messrs Francis and Stephen P Barker, while improving their property near Paradise rocks, Middletown, unearthed a few days ago two tombstones bearing the names of their great-grandfather, George Clarke and his wife Keturah Maxson Clarke. Further search resulted in finding a few remains which were carefully gathered and buried in the Middletown Cemetery.
