(Bk. 2, pg. 162) (Unknown). “About 40 rods or more from the Shunpike north side and west of the (either south or north?) bank of the Pocasset river a burial lot in the woods much overgrown with _____? Of about a dozen graves. We understand those of people of color – marked by rude stones only.” Note: someone has written in in ballpoint pen: “Probably the Lewis family which held property in this area.”
