James N. Arnold recorded this lot 41) – Dec. 21, 1891. (Bk. 1, pg. 398) (Unknown). “On the Dr. Wilcox’s farm north from the house and beside the road east side a burial lot of the Brown and Thornton families. The David Brown family were removed elsewhere a few years ago and a monument erected to the memory of David Brown. The Thorntons and others that remain have inscribed stones although from marks now remaining should judge there were about a dozen or better burials. The yard is overgrown with _____? In mending the road they have already commence (sic) encroachment on one side of the lot.”
