CommentSmall Maple Root Cemetery is located at the corner of Hill Farm and Harkney Hill Roads, bordered by a metal fence along Hill Farm Road on the east and by the Maple Root Baptist Church parking lot on the south. The cemetery is open on the west and north. A few stones are broken, but otherwise no signs of vandalism. Two plots are overgrown with weeds, but the cemetery is well cared for. It is 135 ft. x 360 ft., in excellent condition, enclosed with a metal fence. The historic cemetery sign in good condition. The cemetery contains about 500 burials with 373 inscribed stones. James Arnold visited on October 13, 1905 and commented, “the new cemetery at Maple Root is northwest from Meeting House, yard much neglected” (Vol. 6, Book H, page 875). Recorded by Dr. Bill Eddleman and John Sterling for a 1998 book on Coventry cemeteries
