Comment | This lot is located 200 feet south of Plainfield Pike at telephone pole #68, east of the house at #1387 Plainfield Pike, adjacent to CY #100. The members of the Fiske family were moved here from the Fiske Lot (CY #180), where Arnold found them in 1905. The lot is 45 ft x 45 ft, in good condition, and enclosed with granite posts and iron rails with an iron gate. The historic cemetery sign is in good condition. There are 17 burials with four inscribed stones. It is on the tax assessor’s map #320, lot #93.1.
James N. Arnold visited on 8 Aug. 1905, “At Rice City in sight of road south side on Pike going west, are two yards side by side. Yard No. 2 fenced by granite posts and iron rails, in good order” [The first cemetery is the Bates-Ryder Lot-CY #100.] (Vol. 6, Book B, p. 1124).
Charles and Martha Benns visited this lot in 1933, their #197.Recorded by Dr. Bill Eddleman and John Sterling for a 1998 book |
