CommentCemetery is located at intersection of Dexter & Curran Road at #220 Dexter St. It is badly overgrown with weeds, trees, and briars. When visited on January 27, 1993 it was in terrible shape with only two stones found. I believe the home adjacent to cemetery has begun to fill in a part of the cemetery for its own use. When I spoke to a person who is familiar with the area, she indicated to me that she remembered the cemetery being a bit larger and closer to the road. Being that this cemetery is in a hollow and the neighbors land is quite a bit higher, it is not difficult to believe theymay have backfilled over a part of the cemetery. Previous state registration lists call this an "Old Indian Cemetery," but it is quite clear from the inscribed gravestones that this is the resting place of Asa Bates' family.
