Commentprobably near the Richard Angell Tavern at the corner of Plainfield Pike & Rt #5 in Johnston. See JN522. James N. Arnold recorded this lot his #78) – May 24, 1891. (Bk. 2, pg. 212 “On the Olney Angell farm and opposite the farm house beside the Plainfield turnpike yard well care (sic) for although not very well protected.” Grace G Tillinghast 1930: Plainfield Pike, lefthand side of road 4/10 mi from Thornton, near mailbox of Lewis F. Greene. Charles & Martha Benns recorded this lot in 1933 their #198 "Plainfield Pike, Cranston" See Thomas Angell genealogy pg. 57: "Abel Angell was a blacksmith in South Scituate near the Angell tavern…. Just east of this house in an orchard planted by his father, a burying ground was established. In this lot were about thirty graves of his relatives -- that of his sister Amey and her daughter Amey, and many others. When this property was sold a few years ago by Richard, son of Abel, no reserve was made of this burial ground. The gravestones have been built into the wall and the ground plowed. Richard commenced a burying place on the opposite side of the road where Abel, his father, was buried and some of his own children. The Episcopal Church is built on this lot, and it is doubtful how long these graves will be protected.
