James Arnold visited the site of this lot 29 Nov 1890 (Vol 2, Pg 73) On the Smith Palace Plat farm there was once two burial lots. The eastern one is now [1890] leveled with the ground and nothing now marks the spot. Tradition says Throops and other family connections were buried there. It was on the brow of the steep hill that is directly west of the Palace.
