Notes | Engraved on monument: "Son of Nathan, who was son of Capt. Nathan, who
was son of Seth, who was son of John, who was son of Richard, the first
white settler of Woonsocket, who was son of Thomas, who was son of
William, who came from England and settled with Roger Williams in
Providence."
Note in James N. Arnold's records: "Thomas was half brother of William,
and not his son as above stated. William was born in 1587 and Thomas in
1599. James N. Arnold."
