Notes | The gravestone was not readable beyond the name in 1992 but there is a transcript in John Russell Bartlett, Genealogy of that branch of the Russell family which comprises the descendants of John Russell of Woburn, Massachusetts, 1640-1878 (1879), p. 31.
Also in memory of William Russell, who departed this life February 10, 1825. Brothers and partners in trade thirty years, who lived together with the most endearing love, affection, and real friendship, till death separated them for a short period. As in their lives they were most happily connected--so doth their ashes now sweetly sleep together in the same grave, till the trump of God shall call them to awake. |
