FS "A.F.T." George Gardiner, History of Lafayette, p. 68 says that Jimmy Thomas is buried here. He was a fireman on the "Mat Morgan", Stonington R.R. engine, which exploded in Providence on 27 November 1875 killing Thomas. Jimmy, 27, was son of James & Amey F. Thomas. (N.K. Rec. Bk.4, p. 26). Harris in 1880 noted a recent unmarked grave next to that of Amey Frances, whether husband of son unknown.
