Notes 1710/11 died: [CHILDBIRTH] See Newport Mercury Saturday January 30, 1864. "in removing the Fairbanks house from its location on Bowery Street, a gravestone was found with the following inscription legibly cut upon it. "Here lieth the body of Ruth the daughter of Major Nathaniel Sheffield and Mary his wife and wife of Daniel Gould who died March ye 16th 1712 in the 21st year of her age."
