pic - newspaper account: He was at the Second Beach, near Purgatory, and was drawing the charge from his gun preparatory to reloading for the purpose of firing into the fissure in the rocks, when the gun accidently went off, the contents passing through his side, killing him instantly; a younger brother was with him at the time. His remains were immediately taken to his father's residence, Ocre Point.] [His father was Lt Governor of RI 1851-1852] He is buried in Trinity Church Yard iNewport.
