In his "Paragraphs on Early Prudence Island," 1964, p. 46, Charles C. Maytum says that Charles Edwin Allen, the Prudence Island historian, visited this lot in the early 1900s and found 14 unmarked fieldstones. It was located about 500 yards from the south end of the island and about 200 yards from the east shore. The cemetery existed as late as 1932 but was destroyed during construction of the Navy base in 1942. An intensive search in 1962 failed to find it.
