Comment1/4 mile north of Priory office building. CETA gives 1975c location as "near old pond beyond Portsmouth Abbey's playfield." 1970 resurvey notes that permission had been refused for a historic cemetery sign. No transcription known at this time. The Gideon Freeborn estate was excavated by James Garman in 1993; he may have information relating to the cemetery. See Nancy Rodriguez' article "Digging for Clues to Slavery" in "The East Bay Window," Section B, 15-16 July 1993. Not mentioned by IK in 1989.
